Oneness-Family School is a Montessori-based school with a peace focus, offering multi-age classrooms, serving students ages 2 through grade 8. Our approach is to educate the whole child, to provide a learning environment in which personal growth is valued as much as academic excellence.

Oneness-Family School, located 6701 Wisconsin Ave, Chevy Chase, MD, is hiring for this 2011-12 academic year (see below). These positions would be a great opportunity for those with flexible schedules and those wanting to gain additional school teaching experience to complement their resume.

After-Care Teacher (2-3 year-olds)
After-Care teachers for 2-3 year-olds provide care and structured play during the hours of Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm. This position has an immediate start date. Applicants must have at least two years experience with children ages 2-3 years old and ONE of the following:

  • A 90-hour childcare certification
  • A 45-hour childcare assistant certification
  • Two college level courses in early childhood development or education

After-Care Teacher (Grades 4-8)
We are looking for dynamic, creative and dedicated teachers to join our school. A child's love of learning begins here!

Come join an exciting progressive international Montessori school as an after care teacher! You may also be eligible to substitute teach during the 8:00am - 3:00pm time slot as well.

This is a great opportunity for a college student or young professional looking to get into the field of education. We have a position available for after care teacher in our 4th - 8th grade program, with a maximum of 12 students at any time.

Details:

  • Experience working with children required (Please outline your experience working with elementary and middle school aged children in your cover letter)
  • A 90-hour childcare certification
  • A 45-hour childcare assistant certification
  • Two college-level courses in early childhood development or education
  • For the school year 2011/2012 School Year, Start date is in October
  • Job hours are Monday - Friday from 3:00-6:00 pm.

Experienced Substitute Teachers
Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience working with children.
  • Availability Monday through Friday during school hours.
  • An interest in education and teaching children.
  • Some applicable college level courses or the 90-hour childcare certification.

Interns

The School is looking for volunteer student interns. This is a great experience for high school students needing community service hours and/or those who want to gain teaching experience.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Experience in a diverse and/or international environment
  • Experience babysitting or working with children
  • The desire to learn and to have fun!
